Quiz Time

Quiz Time

An intellectual game that quizzes youth on their knowledge of Bible verses.

Requirements:

  • Ages: 8 and up
  • Players: 2 or more players
  • Time: 15-30 minutes
  • Each player must have a legal Promise deck

Each player must set their Promise deck in front of their counterclockwise neighbor, facedown.

Oldest player reads first.

Order of Operations

The first player will draw a card from the deck in front of them (which should be their clockwise/left-hand neighbor’s deck). The player will now read the verse on the face of the card. The player to their left will now guess what the verse reference is. They must get the book, chapter and verse correct.

Note: If there is an atypical reference, such as one that has “a” or “b” or multiple verses referenced, they only need to get one of the verse numbers correct.

If the player guesses correctly, they take that card, which counts as a point.

If the player does not guess correctly, the reader discards that card and it does not count as a point.

The next player clockwise of the current reader will be the next reader. They will read the card from the top of the deck in front of them to the neighbor to their left.

The first player to 10 points wins.

Once the victory condition is met and the winner is declared, all players sort out the cards they have and return them to their proper owner.

For a shorter game, if the player guesses their Bible verse wrong, the reader takes the card and gains a point instead.

For a longer game, you may increase the required point value up to 20.
